The programme involves working as an intern on a full-time placement (of 6 to 9 weeks) and gaining a more thorough understanding of the type of work Fast Streamers do in the Civil Service.
You will be placed within one of a range of government departments. You can expect good training and development whichever department you join.
By the end of the placement, you will have learnt a great deal about the role of the Civil Service and about the relationships between Parliament and Civil Service departments, and you should be feeling confident in your ability to apply for the Fast Stream.
You will be paid a competitive training allowance by your department. Departments cannot provide funding for travel and accommodation, but they will try and help you to find somewhere to stay if you need them to.
Please note that placements do not lead to permanent employment
